Sharks Reassign Forward Chris Tierney to Worcester

SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forward Chris Tierney (@tierney71) to the Worcester Sharks (AHL).

Tierney, 20, made his NHL debut on Oct. 8 at Los Angeles and recorded his first career point (an assist) in the contest. He has tallied two assists in 14 games with San Jose this season.

The six-foot, 190-pound native of Keswick, Ontario, was originally drafted by San Jose in the second round (55th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

In addition, the club has activated forward Matt Nieto (@matt_nieto).

Nieto, 22, missed nine games due to injury from Dec. 6-27. He has recorded nine points (three goals, six assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 26 games with San Jose this season.
