Sharks Headed To Detroit For Second Round Matchup

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks
With the Vancouver Canucks' Game Seven victory over the Dallas Stars, 4-1, on Monday night, the San Jose Sharks will now be headed to Michigan for their Western Conference Semifinal matchup against the top-seeded Detroit Red Wings.

Game One of the series will be this Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit at 4:30 PM (Pacific). The series will follow the traditional 2-2-1-1-1 format with Games One and Two (and Five and Seven if necessary) scheduled to be played in Detroit's Joe Louis Arena and Games Three and Four (and Six if necessary) scheduled to be played in the friendly confines of HP Pavilion at San Jose.

With their victory, the third-seeded Canucks will be headed to Southern California for their semifinal matchup against the second-seeded Anaheim Ducks. Had the Stars defeated the Canucks, the Sharks would have begun their semifinal series in Anaheim and Dallas would have traveled to Detroit.

The Sharks local television broadcast schedule will be announced shortly. All San Jose Sharks playoff games can be heard on the 98.5 KFOX (KUFX-FM), the San Jose Sharks Radio Network (the Sharks pre-game show will air live in its entirety on KFOX starting ½ hour before every game) and SJSHARKS.com.
