The Stanley Cup Playoffs. It’s that magical time of year in when the stakes are higher and the energy level at HP Pavilion is through the roof. For the Sharks, the quest for the Stanley Cup begins on Wednesday, May 1 in Vancouver before returning to San Jose for Game #3 on Sunday.
Show your support for the team and raise money for the Sharks Foundation by participating in these playoff-related fundraisers:Playoff Mystery Pucks:
Playoff Mystery Pucks will be available for one night only at the first playoff home game on Sunday, May 5. Pucks will be for sale on the Concourse Level at the North and South Entrances when doors open at 5:45 p.m. Every puck is guaranteed to be signed by a player and will be individually wrapped so the player's identity remains a surprise until after purchase. Because of the popularity of this fundraiser, fans are encouraged to arrive early, as pucks will sell out before the start of the game. Pucks are just $20 each and net proceeds will benefit the Sharks Foundation.
Throughout all home playoff games, the Sharks Foundation will be hosting in-game auctions at the Sharks Foundation booth located between Sections 118 & 120 on the concourse. This is your chance to bid on signed memorabilia, one-of-a-kind experiences and more! All regular auctions will close bidding halfway into the Second Intermission.
Street Rally & Beer Booth:
On Sunday, May 5, a Street Rally will be held on Autumn Street from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. The street rally will feature a variety of entertainment including face painting, music, BMX bike performers and much more! In addition, the Sharks Foundation will host a beer booth where beverages will be $5 and all proceeds will benefit the local community. Mini Street Rallies:
Before Games #3 and #6 (if necessary), stop by the Sharks Foundation Beer Booth on Autumn St. during the playoff mini-street rallies. All net proceeds will benefit the Sharks Foundation. Beard-A-Thon:
The Sharks are opening the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Vancouver Canucks and fans everywhere have the opportunity to join in on the tradition of the playoff beard. Those fans that choose to “grow” are joining the ranks of all the Sharks players who will go without shaving for the duration of the team’s playoff run. Not shaving doesn’t necessarily mean growing a full beard, and for some, the effort is what really counts. Sharks players and the fans that participate can invite their friends and family to pledge a donation amount to support their playoff beard. Fans who are unwilling, or unable, to grow playoffs beard can also pledge their friends or favorite Sharks player. For more information or to enroll in the Sharks Beard-a-thon, please log onto www.beardathon.com/sharks
. All donations to the Sharks Beard-a-thon are tax deductible. Over the last two seasons, nearly 800 fans participated in this cause and raised over $25,000 for the Sharks Foundation.
