Sharks Announce 2011-12 Television Schedule

Comcast SportsNet California’s Schedule Begins Saturday, October 8 with Live Coverage of the Regular Season Opener against the Phoenix Coyotes

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Sharks and Comcast SportsNet California today announced their 76-game television schedule for the 2011-12 National Hockey League season, which includes all main channel games in high definition.

In addition, the Sharks are scheduled to appear on VERSUS nationally five times – (Oct. 31 at New York Rangers, Dec. 13 at Colorado, Jan. 2 at Vancouver, Jan. 10 at Minnesota and Feb. 13 at Washington), and NBC once – (Feb. 19 at Detroit).

Comcast SportsNet California will begin its coverage of Sharks hockey on Sat., October 8, when the Sharks face off against Phoenix at 7:30 p.m.

Long-time play-by-play announcer Randy Hahn will again serve as the voice for Comcast SportsNet California’s broadcasts. The six-time Northern California Emmy Award winner will once again be joined by fan favorite Drew Remenda. Remenda has served 10 seasons as the Sharks television color analyst, winning four local Emmy Awards. Hahn and Remenda will be joined by seven-time regional Emmy Award winning reporter Brodie Brazil.

Comcast SportsNet California’s Sharks Pregame Live will lead viewers right to the drop of the puck with a breakdown of the evening’s matchup, insightful analysis, and interviews with Sharks coaches and players. Immediately following Sharks games on Comcast SportsNet California, Sharks Postgame Live will provide in-depth game analysis, complete game highlights, a live look at Coach Todd McLellan’s press conference, interviews from the dressing room and player reaction, and a preview of the next game. The shows are anchored by Scott Reiss and two-time U.S. Olympian and member of the 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes Bret Hedican, with additional analysis from former Sharks forward and radio analyst Jamie Baker and Brodie Brazil.

For approximately 24 hours following each game, Comcast SportsNet California’s Sharks telecasts will be available on Comcast Digital Cable’s ON DEMAND Channel 1. Most Sharks HDTV games will also be available at ON DEMAND Channel 1.
