SANTA MONICA, Calif.

The award will be presented to Roenick on June 19, 2009 during the Echoes of Hope-Keep Hope Alive fundraising gala at the Palms Hotel (Sky Villa) in Las Vegas as part of the NHL Awards weekend festivities.

"There is no other person I could think of who is more deserving of our inaugural Keep Hope Alive award," said CEO of Echoes of Hope, Stacia Robitaille. "Jeremy not only does amazing work in the community, he inspires hope in the lives of everyone around him. His teammates, his fans, his family and friends are all blessed by his kind giving spirit."

"I am totally overwhelmed and flattered by this honor," said Roenick. "Luc and Stacia Robitaille have always been a special part of my life. They are two people who have always been there for me. The fact that they would honor me with the first ever Keep Hope Alive award means a great deal to me."
