- The Czech Ice Hockey Association announced today that San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl
has been named to the Czech Republic's 2015 Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Men's World Championship May 1-17 in Ostrava and Prague (Hertl's hometown), Czech Republic.
The 21-year-old Hertl recorded 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) and four game-winning goals in 82 games with San Jose this season. The second-year player finished 7th on the team in points and T-7th in goals. His four game-winning tallies ranked 2nd on the Sharks while he finished 6th on the team in shots on goal (145).
The six-foot-two, 210-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic, has tallied 56 points (28 goals, 28 assists) and 20 penalty minutes in 119 career NHL games with San Jose. Hertl has represented the Czech Republic in numerous international tournaments, including: the World Championships (2014, 2013), the World Jr. Championships (2013, 2012) and the U-18 World Jr. Championships (2011).
