Entercom Expands the Reach of Sharks Radio

by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks

Sharks radio broadcasters Dan Rusanowsky and Jamie Baker will now be
available on KFOX 98.5/102.1 FM

SAN JOSE – The Sharks Radio Network expands its reach starting today due to Entercom Communications’ acquisition of KFOX 98.5 FM (KUFX-FM), the Sharks flagship radio station. Entercom (NYSE: ETM) is now simulcasting KFOX programming on 102.1 FM (KDFC) in San Francisco, which provides a dramatic radio signal improvement for fans north of the San Mateo Bridge and transforms KFOX into the Bay Area’s first classic rock superstation.

With Sharks games now simulcast on 102.1 FM along with continuing coverage on 98.5 FM, fans will now enjoy a fully reliable signal throughout the Bay Area, including such areas as: San Jose, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Vacaville, Alameda, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Sunol, Oakland, San Pablo and Hercules. Sharks hockey continues to be available on 12 other affiliate stations throughout Northern California (see below).

Dan Rusanowsky is in the midst of his 20th season of Sharks play-by-play. A 31-year veteran of radio broadcasting, Rusanowsky has called well over 1,400 Sharks games and all 140 Sharks playoff games. Jamie Baker, who played 10 years in the NHL, including several with the Sharks, is in his sixth year of color commentary.

“We’re extremely pleased that more fans throughout the North Bay will now get the opportunity to listen to Dan and Jamie call every Sharks game broadcast,” said Sharks Executive Vice President Malcolm Bordelon. “Sharks hockey is very popular in Northern California and the fan-base continues to grow. This simulcast allows our expanding fan-base easier access to our game broadcasts.”
