In 2015-16 the San Jose Sharks celebrated their 25th anniversary season. It was also the best season in franchise history, including the team's first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup Final. To commemorate, we're taking a look back at the 25 most memorable, funny, and best moments of the 25th anniversary.
Joel Ward was one of the free agents brought in over the summer by general manager Doug Wilson. Known for his clutch goals in big games, Ward was already a big contributer to the Sharks offense early in the season. But nothing as big as on October 24 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Ward started off the game with two goals in the first period, and the Sharks never looked back. The team entered the third period up 4-2, with Pavelski and Wingels contributing to the effort.
Finally, with 57 seconds left in the game, Ward scored on the empty net to complete the hat trick. It was the second hat trick of his career.
