1,000th Game For Linesman Henderson
by Alex Aragon / San Jose SharksCongratulations are in order for NHL linesman Don Henderson. When the Sharks and Wild drop the puck on Tuesday night at HP Pavilion, No. 91 will have officiated his 1,000th career NHL game.
The Calgary, Alberta native's first NHL game was on March 11, 1995 at the Colisee de Quebec between the Islanders and Nordiques. The 17-year veteran officiated last year's All-Star Game in Raleigh, the first of his career, and had a special tribute to his close friend and fallen colleague Stephane Provost.
While it's frequently a thankless job, linesmen are among the toughest people in hockey. Just ask Jason Demers and Cal Clutterbuck.
