Thursday, May 8 marked the 31st annual McHappy Day and the Ottawa Senators were proud to participate. Senators’ alumnus Chris Neil and fan-favourite Spartacat were on hand at the Palladium McDonalds location in Kanata to join in on the fun.

Neil and Sparty helped deliver meals and smiles as they took to the drive thru and cash register to hand out orders and interact with fans in an enjoyable day for a great cause.

A portion of all proceeds from meals purchased on McHappy Day supported Ronald McDonald House. In addition to the funds raised through purchases, the Senators Community Foundation showed their support in the form of a $50,000 donation to Ronald McDonald House.

The generous donation will go towards supporting the necessary growth of more rooms, support services and peace of mind that Ronald McDonald House offers to families whose children are going through long-term medical treatment.

The Senators have been proud participants in McHappy Day for multiple years, with this year’s donation marking their third in as many years. Days like McHappy Day are a great way for the community to support a valuable cause and bring smiles to the faces of children going through medical treatment.
