11:30 AM: Development camp signals a big transition for many young players, especially those who are moseying over to North America for their first time. I spoke to new Sens goaltender Marcus Hogberg about moving to Ottawa and his adjustment to the North American game after a couple of days...
On being in Ottawa:
It's fun to be here and meet the new guys and compete with them. I think Ottawa's a good city and the whole town loves hockey. It's hockey crazy.
On North American hockey:
This is my first time. It's new for me to play in a smaller rink. The speed is faster here. It's fun. It was hard for me in the beginning but now it's no problem.
On the other Swedes at camp:
I've met Mika (Zibanejad) and Fedrick (Claesson) before but not Tobias (Lindberg), it's my first time meeting him. They've helped me a lot with understandng stuff.
On his game at camp:
I'm trying my best and I hope they like what they see from me.
9:45 AM: Off-ice workouts are well underway today with a whole bevvy of exercises being performed in various locations around the rink.
9:00 AM: Development Camp rolls on at the Canadian Tire Centre and Bell Sensplex today.
With two days in the books, players have gotten acquainted with one another and are getting some familiarity with the work they're putting in as well. It'll be another morning of off-ice training for them before they split up later this afternoon. The goaltenders will split off for some position specific training while the forwards and defencemen will work on their puck skills.
Sens TV is the engine that never stops around development camp and was behind the scenes for all of yesterday's activities. You can catch up here:
