We caught up with Sens centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau for a quick chat after this morning's skate and prior to hosting the Los Angeles Kings tonight.
On moving on from the loss in Montreal:
We just want to turn the page and look forward. We want to put that one behind us. There's nothing we can really change but we can take a lesson from it and move forward. Everyone was disappointed after the game. We're all competitive and we just lost a big game.
On having the opportunity to bounce back at home tonight against the Kings:
I think that we're lucky to have a home game right away just to get back on track and play the way we want. If we do that I think good things will happen.
On the team's struggle on the penalty kill:
Sometimes it's just a bounce here or there but I think it's going a lot better than it was at the beginning of the year. The power play is doing really well and I think our PK is going to have to be way better if we want to help the team to win. We give up one goal almost every game so that's not good enough and we're not satistfied. For sure, we're working hard on it but I don't think it's the players. Everyone is willing to block shots and to play on the PK to help the team it's just a few bounces here and there.
On being one of the more penalized teams in the league:
We've been penalized a lot this year. It's good that it's still early in the year and we have 50 games left I think to be better. I think all the players know it too so we just have to execute the game plan and if we do this we sould be fine.
On being satisfied with the team's season so far:
We're in a playoff spot and that's our goal: we want to be in the playoffs. I think we just want to keep pushing to get higher in the standings. Everyone here hates to lose games and that's the attitude I think we need to have.
