OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today the appointment of Ken Taylor as the organization’s new chief financial officer (CFO).
Taylor joins the Senators from BTI Systems Inc., where he served as CFO since 2013. Located in Ottawa, BTI Systems is an award winning provider of cloud and metro networking solutions for service and content providers. He will continue to support and advise BTI until his replacement has been retained in an effort to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
With more than 25 years of executive leadership, banking, financial, strategic and operational experience with a number of technology companies, Taylor currently serves as director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Sandvine Corporation. Prior to joining BTI, Taylor was the CFO of March Networks Corporation until it was acquired in 2012 and just prior to that he served as CFO and COO for Proshred Security International. He also spent nearly 10 years with Newbridge Networks Corp. and held the position of vice-president of finance when Newbridge was sold to Alcatel in 2001.
“Ken brings a weath of experience in the financial sector and a great knowledge of the local business community to the Senators,” said Senators president Cyril Leeder. “We have a diverse business operation that requires strategic expertise on a wide variety of financial topics. He has demonstrated the ability to grow and drive each of the businesses of which he has been a part and we are pleased to welcome him to the Senators family.”
A chartered accountant, Taylor holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.
Taylor, who started with the Senators earlier this week, is a long time Sens fan and joins the Sens Army along with his wife, Lorraine, and their children Jake, Nicole and Drew.
