Game Day 5: Sens @ Blues

by Craig Medaglia @craigmedaglia / Ottawa Senators

Looking for the rundown on tonight's game in St. Louis? Well we've got 5 things to help get you ready for tonight's 8 p.m. start against the Blues.

1. Starting Goalies

Mike Condon is set to make his 10th consecutive start in goal for the Sens tonight. Condon has been a workhorse since being acquired back in November and brings a 10-7-3 record into tonight's game against the Blues.

At the other end of the rink, Carter Hutton gets the nod in net for St. Louis. Hutton has won his last two starts for the Blues stopping 45 of the 46 shots he faced against the Sharks and Ducks last week.

2. Projected line-up

Everyone seems to be relatively healthy so there are no expected changes to the line-up tonight. The only apparent change from the past few games is that Chris Driedger and Matt O'Connor have switched places and Driedger gets the back-up duty on this road trip.

Here's how the lines and pairings are shaping up...

3. Previous meeting

While it wasn't the last time these teams faced off, we're rewinding back to January 4th, 2016 when the Sens were last in St. Louis. Ottawa rallied from a 2-0 deficit to eventually edge the Blues in overtime thanks to a pair of goals by Bobby Ryan. Ryan's overtime winner was also one of our top 5 plays of last season, check it out...

4. From the coach

On some of the challenges the Blues present:

St. Louis plays a good solid defensive game. I know Hitch so he's very thorough about systems and how he wants his players to play. The thing about their team is that they have big defencemen that box out well. They've got speed on the rush and can join the rush and in the offensive zone they get a lot of shots from the point and guys screening and tipping.

5. Broadcast

It's a bit of an odd start time tonight given we're in Missouri but things are set to get rolling at 8 p.m. It's another one of those TSN5 and RDS night's so tune in for literally the best Sens coverage available.
