Craig Anderson re-joined the team on Friday after spending the majority of the week in Florida to be with his wife for the birth of their second child.
Here's what he had to say...
On last night's game:
Tough to watch when you're on the airline. 30,000 feet, there's no TV up there... It was obviously not a fun one for the guys but it's one of those things where you learn from it. I don't know the atmosphere but from what the score was — from what I understand it was a little bit closer than the score, we played better than what the score showed.
On the baby:
Tuesday at 4:27, a baby boy, Levi Bentley Anderson.
On the family:
Everybody is well, everybody is home, relaxing, having a good time right now and just enjoying the experience.
On getting back to hockey after the birth:
The dads are stressed out, you're getting yelled at all the time but it was a really good experience. It was just one of those things where it was good to be there and be there for the family but I'm definitely anxious to get back at the net and get back on this ride for the stretch run. I'm looking forward to finishing out the year strong.
On finishing strong:
We've got to find ways to get points and win hockey games. At this point in the year the systems are set, guys are pretty familiar with everybody so there shouldn't be any new experiences, so to speak. It's the teams that play the best together down the stretch that usually play well. For us it's a matter of doing things that we've learned all year and applying those to mistakes we've made and fixing those mistakes so we make less mistakes here over the last little bit.
