by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled centre Josh Hennessy from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Hennessy opened the season with Ottawa, recording no points in two games before being assigned to Binghamton on Oct. 5. The 22-year-old made his National Hockey League debut with the Senators last season, scoring one goal and registering four penalty minutes in 10 games. He scored his first NHL goal on Jan. 7, 2007, against Philadelphia Flyer Antero Niittymaki.

In 45 games with the B-Sens this season, Hennessy had 11 goals and 23 assists, tying defenceman Lawrence Nycholat for the team lead with 34 points.

Binghamton is in fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with 51 points from 22 wins, 17 losses, four overtime losses and three shootout losses. The club’s next game is Friday, Feb. 1, when it hosts the Norfolk Admirals.
