The Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Bobby Butler
from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. He is being recalled on an emergency basis in place of the injured Alex Kovalev.
Butler’s recall marks his second of the season by the Senators. He was recalled for the first time on Dec. 5 and made his regular-season debut later that day in the team’s 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. In four games with the Senators this season, Butler has been held scoreless with no penalty minutes.
A native of Marlborough, Mass., Butler ranks sixth in the AHL with 19 goals while also recording 11 assists and 33 penalty minutes in 41 games with Binghamton this season.
The Senators return to action this evening when they host the Anaheim Ducks for the only time this season at 7:30 p.m.
