– The Ottawa Senators today assigned forward Ilya Zubov
to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Zubov made his National Hockey League debut on Jan. 15 in Washington, seeing 14:38 of ice time on a line with Daniel Alfredsson
and Jason Spezza
Zubov is tied for third in team scoring with 10 goals, 16 assists and 10 penalty minutes over 41 games with the B-Sens this season. The 20-year-old has six two-point games, most recently a two-goal effort in a 4-2 loss in Portland against the Pirates on Jan. 4. He recorded his first AHL goal in the opening game of the season against Albany on Oct. 6.
Binghamton is in fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with 43 points from 18 wins, 16 losses, four overtime losses and three shootout losses. The club’s next game is tonight, when they host the Portland Pirates.
Zubov was Ottawa’s second pick in the second round, 98th overall, in the 2005 NHL entry draft.
