The Ottawa Senators' Goodwill Ambassadors are a community based volunteer organization independently operating in support of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.
Founded in 1992, the Goodwill Ambassadors area s group of men and women specifically serving as hosts and as information providers at all Ottawa Senators home games and other hockey club events. As needed, they are responsible for the distribution of handouts at all hockey club games and events.
The Goodwill Ambassadors alos support local charities from funds raised through the sale of hockey tickets donated by the Ottawa Senators in exchange for the services of the Ambassadors at all home games and events.
So the group has donated over $307,000 to various organization that include Ottawa Senators foundation, Boys and Girls club of Ottawa and various cancer and sports associations.
How do you join the Ottawa Goodwill Ambassadors?
Candidates are identified by name referral from existing members of the organization or by submission of resumes through other related sources.
The basic requirements are:
Retired or flexible work shifts that allows involvement in activates during the normal work day.
Be available for evening games by arriving at 4:30 or earlier for afternoon games.
Willingness to undertake other than game day assignments.
Physical condition permitting standing for 2 ½ hours.
Demonstrated interest in the provision of volunteer services.
