Paul Gaustad visited students at Benjamin Franklin Middle School this week in celebration of the Western New York Energy Detectives sponsored by National Fuel.
As the spokesperson for the Buffalo Sabres Green Team, Gaustad shared tips on how to become more efficient and conserve energy at home.
Gaustad also congratulated Spencer Miliotto, the grand-prize winner of the Energy Detectives. Miliotto designed a modified windmill for the project and was awarded an autographed Sabres jersey and tickets to a game at HSBC Arena.
The program, in conjunction with the National Energy Education Development project, was offered to teachers in WNY at the fifth through 12th-grade level to help their students to become active in going green. The NEED program includes teacher-tested, hands-on classroom kits that teach students about energy efficiency, conservation and energy sources.
