“The Buffer and the Duffer”
We started the show talking about Dustin Byfuglien and his contract status with the Jets. He is in the final year of his contract, bringing an extension or trade the only two scenarios for the big blue liner.
Matthew Coller and I discussed if he would fit here, what you'd have to give up and if it would be worthwhile. The answer? NO. Our opinions anyway.
Then Brian Duff joined the show and we discussed that there were only two applications for expansion teams in the NHL and why. Brian expressed concern for both markets, Las Vegas and Quebec City, citing economics and the Canadian dollar.
That led to further discussion on the economics of the NHL, healthy franchise and revenue sharing.
