The Stars fought hard, butwere defeated in the third game of the qualifying round 6-2 by Hudson Valley. The 2-1 record was good enough to qualify the Stars for a semi final round game. The semi-final game was against the Long Island Edge. It was one of the best games you will ever see. The game ended in a 2-2 tie after regulation, with each team registering 18 shots on goal. The score was unchanged after the 5 minute overtime period, which took the game into a shootout. Neither team was about to give in as the shooters and goalies battled back and forth for both teams, and finally, after 12 shooters from each team had taken their attempts to win the game, the Edge squeaked in a goal to prevail. The Long Island Edge went on to win the State Championship. Congratulations to the Stars on a great year!
