Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have acquired a second-round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Ales Kotalik. (Edmonton’s pick was previously acquired from Carolina.)
Kotalik had 32 points (13+19) in 56 games for the Sabres this season, including eight power play goals. The 30-year-old Kotalik had 240 points (114+126) in 426 career games with the Sabres.
Kotalik was Buffalo’s sixth-round choice (164th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
