Buffalo Sabres Managing Partner Larry Quinn announced today the team will be wearing their white jerseys during four home games against Northeast Division opponents in November, including three Original Six teams.
Buffalo will wear their road whites at HSBC Arena for games against Boston (Wednesday, November 7) and Toronto (Friday, November 9), along with Thanksgiving week visits from Ottawa (Wednesday, November 21) and Montreal (Friday, November 23).
“The Buffalo Sabres asked the NHL to wear white jerseys at home for the month of November so that fans could differentiate divisional games from non-divisional opponents,” said Quinn. “The organization has asked the NHL to consider this for all divisional games in the future. The NHL agreed to let us try this during the month of November to see how it resonates with our fans.”
NHL teams haven’t worn white jerseys at home on a full-time basis since the 2002-03 season.
