The buildup for the NHL Winter Classic is getting bigger. Looking at the weather for Jan. 1, a few guys asked today what the forecast was. We are slowly starting to think about it a little more. It’s going to be exciting. As we get closer and closer, the buildup will be more than what it is now. We are all anxious and looking forward to it.
I heard this morning there is a 50 percent chance of rain or snow that day. I was at the Bills game on Sunday in cold weather saying to myself ‘what if this happens when we play?’ I don’t know what they would do or what it would be like, but I think we can handle the snow.
The rain will probably be tough.
I don’t see how we can play if it’s raining. The ice will be just terrible and it could probably make it dangerous out there too. Our gear would be soaked and our stuff would get really heavy.
I don’t know if we would play, or whose decision that is, but they would have to make a tough one.
There is an argument that the outdoor game should not count in the standings.
If the conditions are good I don’t see why the game should not count. Even if the conditions are not good, both teams are on equal ground. If you are going to have a game, you might as well have it count. I don’t think the buildup and everything around it would be as big if it wasn’t a regular season game. I think it should. It’s going to be a tough one and a fun one.
Other than that, I think the game will be really exciting. It may never happen for us again, to be able to play in front of that many people.
Everybody on the team has either family or friends coming down to the game and it doesn’t happen too often that there is a big buildup like this, so it should be great. We are looking forward to a fun time and the tailgate should be great as well. I would like to get a little camera and see what is going on out there.
