by Jason Pominville / Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo Sabres sniper Jason Pominville will be logging on to Sabres.com and give his insight into the Sabres throughout the 2007-08 season. The sharp-shooting 25-year-old set career highs last season in games played (82), goals (34), assists (34), points (68) and plus/minus rating (plus-25).

I didn’t get a chance to watch the Skills Competition, but I saw parts of the All-Star Game.

I like both events. Obviously, I haven’t really been a part of either, so it’s hard to really say which one I’d like better but I would say as a fan I would probably like to watch the Skills Competition.

I like the new drill they have where they can do breakaways and do whatever they want to score. I don’t know what the reviews are on it but I think it’s pretty cool that they have some kind of basketball-like skill with the points.

I think from our team, we have a lot of creative guys that can do a lot of different things, but Timmy Connolly would probably be pretty good at it.

If I had to pick a drill that I would be good at, I think it would be the accuracy shooting.

But it was nice to get a rest and get away from everything and not have to think about hockey for a little while.

I went home for a little bit with my girlfriend and went to Toronto and visited. We didn’t really want to go too far but it was a nice weekend.

The break is always nice in the middle of the season, so anytime you can get a few days off, everybody is excited about it.

But we’re all happy to be back and get back on the road again and hopefully we can keep playing like we did in the win against Dallas.
