We opened the show talking about Craig Rivet's family trip to Turks and Caicos. It was his son's "Make a Wish" after a strong battle with cancer. Thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation for Nic's wonderful experience and to Craig for sharing the difficult experience of being a father of a son who his battling cancer.
Craig brought the energy up after sharing a story about a Baby Ruth in the pool.
So from that, Craig, Marty Biron and I started to recap all the goals from last night high scoring event. We broke down what the goalies could've done differently and the players around them.
Heated debate in the second hour about Joe Colborne's hit on Cal O'Reilly. I think it was vicious, the guys didn't like my stance. I think I schooled them after they teamed up on me... But you be the judged.
Then local boy Cole Schneider, who is now with the Amerks, called in and chatted with his three idols from his youth.
He's definitely excited about his new opportunity and fresh start playing almost in his back yard.
Lastly, we gave a "Jagr Salute" to the man who just tied Mr. Hockey with 1,850 points to put him in a tie for third in all-time NHL scoring.
Tune in again on Monday at 10 a.m. on WGR 550.
