DON'T DARE DIDDLE Thomas Vanek scored twice on Dec. 12 in a 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Rick Jeanneret made the winger's 22nd goal of the season a bit more memorable.
GOOSE IS LOOSE Derek Roy and Paul Gaustad each scored twice in a 5-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on March 4. It was Gaustad, however, that elicited this call from Jeanneret.
SHOOT THE DARN PUCK A slap shot from the point, and subsequent goal from Roy, earned this call from RJ on March 14 against the Atlanta Thrashers.
WHAT A SAVE Ryan Miller made his second straight start in two nights on March 28 against the Canadiens, after missing 13 games due to a high-ankle sprain. Of the 32 saves he made in the 4-3 shootout win, one in particular against Maxim Lapierre stood out.
THE BUTLER DID IT In the final game of the regular season, Jeanneret was able to use a long-awaited goal call when Chris Butler scored in a 6-1 win against the Boston Bruins.
