The Buffalo Sabres, in partnership with Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS), will be holding a Blood Drive tomorrow (Tuesday, March 18) from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the HSBC Arena Pavilion.
The first 500 donors will receive an autographed Buffalo Sabres hockey puck autographed by a Sabres player. There will be a kids area, free cholesterol screening, and visits from Sabretooth and Perry Winkle of Perry’s Ice Cream.
Headquartered in Buffalo and established in 1981, Upstate New York Transplant Services is among the leading procurement organizations in the United States, and is the only organization of its kind nationwide to offer opportunities for organ, eye, tissue and blood donation. Upstate New York Transplant Services also operates a clinical laboratory responsible for the testing of all potential donors and processing of blood collected through the organization’s community blood service.
Upstate New York Transplant Services, a not-for-profit organization, serves the eight counties of Western New York and is part of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. It works to assist donor families, coordinate the clinical donation process and increase knowledge and awareness within the community regarding organ, eye, tissue and community blood donation.
