2010 PUCKDROP RECAP

The Buffalo Sabres 2010 Puck Drop saw more than 50 adult street hockey teams compete Sept. 18 on the streets surrounding HSBC Arena.


Teams battled in the full-day tournament in downtown Buffalo with a crowd of approximately 3,500 people in attendance. Opening games of the tournament began at 9 a.m. with championship games ending at 6 p.m.

The competition featured a high-spirited competitive and recreational division.

Below is a listing of each division and the champions:

Competitive Division: Primetime: Mike Botticello, Brian Ienco, Scott Bokoski, Eric Sholtz (Runners Up: Mamma Mia)

Recreation Division: F.O.G.: Jason Strasser, Don Strasser, Joe Strasser, Scott Zelasko, Mike Wlostowski (Runners Up: Ice-o-topes)

No player walked away empty handed, as each received a HockeyFest t-shirt and hat for simply competing in the event.
