DETROIT -- The Red Wings announced today that the club has signed forward Joakim Andersson to a three-year entry level contract.  In accordance with team policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Andersson, 21, was a third round draft pick (88th overall) of the Red Wings in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft.  He spent last season with the Frolunda Indians of the Swedish Elite League, registering 18 points (6-12-18) and 42 penalty minutes in 55 games played.  In 2008-09, Andersson was signed to an amateur tryout and played in one regular-season game (0-1-1, 2 PIM), as well as 10 postseason games (1-2-3, 4 PIM) for the Grand Rapids Griffins.
