For the first time this season, Detroit has lost back-to-back games in regulation following a 5-3 loss yesterday afternoon in Boston. "We didn't execute at all in our own zone and gave up a lot of chances," coach Mike Babcock said. "Our power play was no good, gave up two shorthanded goals. Our penalty kill was no good, couldn't stop them, so we weren't good."  Jonas Gustavsson was pulled after the second period after sustaining an injury and letting 4 goals on 23 shots in.

Tonight, the Red Wings face an Edmonton team that has dropped four in a row and  will also be desperate for a win. The Red Wings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 at Rexall Place on Jan. 6.  Justin Abdelkader had a goal and two assists, and center Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist. Oilers right wing Jordan Eberle had two goals. Jimmy Howard is expected to be back in goal tonight for Detroit.
