Detroit drew the ire of coach Mike Babcock after a 5-2 loss at the Boston Bruins on Monday. The Bruins built a 3-1 lead and pushed it to 4-2 in the third after Detroit had drawn within a goal. Babcock was not pleased with Detroit's effort.

"It's like anything, if you're humbled and embarrassed by the way you play, you do something about it. I can tell you I am, because that's ridiculous."

The Red Wings will look to end 2014 on a high note, as New Jersey comes to town. Detroit is 2-0 on the year against New Jersey with Kronwall and Zetterberg leading the way with three points each. Defenseman Jakub Kindl, who sprained his elbow in practice Sunday, was placed on short-term IR Tuesday. Xavier Ouellet was recalled from Grand Rapids of the AHL to take Kindl's roster spot and will play against the Devils. Jimmy Howard is expected to start in goal.
