Red Wings set to host Canucks on first Bobblehead Thursday

by Rick Bowness / Detroit Red Wings
DETROIT –  The Detroit Red Wings (2-0-0) will be looking to continue their red hot start to the 2011-12 NHL campaign on Thursday, October 13 (puck drop – 8:00 p.m.) when the Vancouver Canucks (1-0-1) pay a visit to Joe Louis Arena for an early-season battle between reigning division champs. Detroit and Vancouver split their season series at two wins apiece last year, with each team earning one home and one road victory.

As part of a season-long promotion entitled ‘Bobblehead Thursdays’, the first 7,500 fans in attendance for tomorrow’s  intraconference clash will receive a free Pavel Datsyuk bobblehead compliments of AT&T, the exclusive and official communications services sponsor of the Detroit Red Wings and Joe Louis Arena. Five (5) of the bobbleheads given away at this game will be brandished with a distinct marking on the inside of the box lid. Fans receiving these specially-marked bobbleheads will win a post-game meet-and-greet with Datsyuk outside of the Red Wings’ locker room.
Fewer than 500 seats remain available for tomorrow night’s contest. Tickets to all upcoming Red Wings home games are available at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office (313-396-7575), all Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) outlets, and online at
