- Niklas Kronwall
may have a chance to play for Team Sweden after all.
Kronwall headed to Torino, Italy Monday to join Team Sweden as a member of the taxi squad for his country's olympic team. He may have a chance to play as early as Tuesday against Slovakia due to a knee injury suffered by Swedish defenseman Niclas Havelid.
Kronwall was originally selected to Sweden's team back in December, but was still in the middle of rehabbing a knee injury suffered during a preseason game against Colorado on Sept. 27.
He returned to action for the Red Wings on Feb. 1, but opted not to play for Sweden in order to give the knee more time to heal. The feeling at the time was that a possible eight games in only 12 days could re-aggrevate the injury.
