Discounted tickets on sale Saturday

DETROIT -- The 11-time Stanley Cup champion Red Wings will be giving the best sports fans in the country the opportunity to witness some world-class hockey at an incredibly low rate in the coming weeks, as the team will be releasing a limited number of single-game tickets priced as low as $9 apiece for a quartet of home games in March/April. These special discounted tickets will be available for purchase at the Joe Louis Arena box office (313-396-7575) only, and will go on sale this coming Saturday, February 26 beginning at 1 p.m. EST.

Citizens of Hockeytown electing to take advantage of this amazing offer are able to purchase a maximum of two (2) tickets to a maximum of two (2) games while quantities last. A full list of games for which these discounted tickets will be made available can be found below:
Wednesday, March 9 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Los Angeles Kings*
Wednesday, March 23 – 7:00 p.m. vs. Vancouver Canucks
Wednesday, March 30 – 7:30 p.m. vs. St. Louis Blues
Sunday, April 3 – 5 p.m. vs. Minnesota Wild
*The fist 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary ‘ultimate fan’ bandana courtesy of AT&T
An extremely limited number of single seats and standing-room-only tickets remain available for the two Red Wings games set to take place at The Joe this week – a Tuesday night tilt with the San Jose Sharks and a showdown with the Dallas Stars on Thursday. Both of these matches have a start time of 7:30 p.m. Currently ranked fourth in the NHL in average attendance at 19,520 fans-per-game, Detroit has skated on home ice before a capacity crowd in 11 consecutive contests, a figure that is fully expected to reach 13 by week’s end.
Tickets to all remaining 2010-11 Red Wings home games can be purchased at the JLA Box Office as well as at all TicketMaster locations, including Detroit’s Hockeytown Café and Troy’s Hockeytown Authentics. Red Wings fans also can purchase tickets by logging on to or by calling 800-745-3000.
