Rangers Vice President of Player Development and Head Coach Tom Renney checks in from the 2005 IIHF World Junior Championship with a report on last night's Finland-Slovakia game featuring two of New York's top prospects - Ivan Baranka (right) and Lauri Korpikoski.

"Ivan Baranka and Laurie Korpikoski faced off against each other last night with the Slovak's winning 2-0 with a late empty net goal.

Both players were key to their respective team's efforts. Baranka played a firm, controlled and powerful game on the back-end for Slovakia, while Korpikoski brought a ton of energy, effort and determination to the Finnish cause.

One has to like the hockey sense of these two players, and with the demeanor of each player what it is, I like the chance of these guys to only get better and better. One also can't help but look forward two or three years down the line, to see these talented guys in our line-up. These two guys embody what you want the Rangers to look like down the road."
