Rangers Trim Roster to 25 Players

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the Rangers have reassigned forwards Derek Armstrong, Manny Malhotra and Jeff Ulmer along with goaltender Jean-Francois Labbe to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

In addition, forward Pavel Brendl was assigned to the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL), and forward Jamie Lundmark was assigned to the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

The Rangers now have 25 players remaining on their roster, including three goaltenders, nine defensemen and 13 forwards. New York opens its regular season schedule on Saturday, October 7 vs. the Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena.
