Rangers return defenseman Purinton to Wolf Pack

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Dale Purinton has been reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Purinton, 29, has appeared in seven games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering one goal and three assists, along with 19 penalty minutes. He is currently in the midst of serving a 10-game NHL suspension with four games remaining.

During Friday's practice, Tom Poti skated on his own, and remains out day-to-day with a groin strain. Ryan Hollweg sat out due to a facial cut that he suffered in Thursday's game vs. Pittsburgh, but is expected to be ready for tomorrow's game in Washington.

Kevin Weekes participated in practice, but is still sidelined day-to-day with an ankle contusion. All other players on the active roster skated. Jed Ortmeyer is eligible to return (personal leave) to the lineup on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and will be placed on the active roster for Saturday night's game at Washington (7 p.m.; TV: MSG).
