Kelowna wins series, 4-2
With the Rockets thrilling 2-1 overtime win tonight against the visiting Kootenay Ice, Kelowna advanced to the WHL Championship series (Presented by Kal Tire & Air Canada). The Rockets captured the best-of-seven WHL Western Conference Finals four games to two. Kelowna will host the winner of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship Series between the the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Prince Albert Raiders, which will be decided on Tuesday in a Game 7. Kootenay captain Nigel Dawes missed his second straight game after suffering the effects of a head injury on a controversial Shea Weber hit in Game 4 of the series. Dawes posted five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 12 post-season games, capping another solid WHL season.

WHL Eastern Conference Finals
Series tied, 3-3
Rick Kozak netted a goal and added an assist on the overtime game-winner as Prince Albert earned a 3-2 win over Brandon in Game 6 of their WHL Eastern Conference Finals series. Kozak's tally gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead with six seconds remaining in the first period. His assist came in OT, as he set-up Caine Pearpoint's winner at 7:03 of the extra session to force a Game 7 on Tuesday in Brandon. Prince Albert forward Dane Byers collected an assist and a +1 rating in the win.
