Kootenay (Dawes) 6, Portland 1
Nigel Dawes continues to showcase his offensive talents in the Western Hockey League, with his third three-point effort of the season in Kootenay's 6-1 rout over host Portland on Tuesday. The Ice captain, who was named the first star of the game, has posted eight points (four goals, four assists) in his last six games and leads Kootenay with 29 goals and 47 points in 45 games this season.

Vancouver 1, Medicine Hat (Psurny) 2
Medicine Hat's winning streak reached three games on Tuesday with a 2-1 home ice win over the visiting Vancouver Giants. Tigers forward Roman Psurny did not factor in the scoring for the third straight game but still sits third among all WHL rookies with 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) in 53 games this season.

Charlotte 3, Columbia 2 (SO)
The Charlotte Checkers began one of the most grueling stretches in their 2004-05 season Tuesday night, playing game one of ten games in 14 days. The stretch got off to a good start as Charlotte defeated the Columbia Inferno 3-2 in a shootout at the Carolina Coliseum. After three periods and a five-minute sudden-death overtime session, the teams entered the shootout tied at 2-2. In the shootout Checkers goalie Alex Westlund stopped all four Inferno shooters while Mike Wirll and Jason Dawe scored on Columbia goalie Mike Minard to give the Checkers the win and the two points.
