The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Providence Bruins 3-2 at home on Friday night, as Providence defenseman Ryan Glenn scored the game-winner with 5:19 left in the third period. Rangers prospect Ryan Callahan continued his hot scoring pace, netting the Pack's first goal on an assist from Marvin Degon at 9:53 of the opening period to make it 1-1. Callahan, the game's No. 3 star, now has five goals over the past four games. Hartford's Dane Byers later tied the score at 2-2 with his first goal of the season, assisted by Degon and Jarkko Immonen on a power play at 19:17 of the second period. The Pack outshot the Bruins 29-26, and Al Montoya made 23 saves for Hartford, which is now 2-7-0 on the season. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.


Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 at home on Friday night. Gwinnett's Blue Bennefield broke a 3-3 tie with the game-winner on a power play at 6:40 of the third period. Only three Rangers prospects appeared in the game. Bruce Graham had two shots on goal for the Checkers, while Rick Kozak had one, and Zdenek Bahensky did not have any. Graham and Kozak each had two minor penalties, and Bahensky had one. Sauer scored the game-tying goal for Portland with 1:20 left in the game, forcing overtime. Portland went on to win it, thanks to Colton Sceviour's goal at 1:51 of OT. Sauer was also called for a minor penalty in the third period and finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

Flatt scored the game's first goal at 6:14 of the opening period. The goal was his second of the season -- a single-season major-junior high for the 20-year-old. Flatt was also called for two minor penalties in the first period and one in the second and was plus-3 for the game.

Staal, the Wolves' captain, was a key player in his team's second 6-0 win of the season. He scored Sudbury's second goal on a power play at 18:54 of the opening period and finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

Sanguinetti, the Rangers' No. 1 draft pick in 2006, scored the Attack's seventh goal of the game at 5:41 of the third period. His tally gave Owen Sound a 7-4 lead at the time. The goal was Sanguinetti's ninth of the season and his first in six games. He finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

Foote scored the Huskies' lone goal, finding the net for the second straight game. His even-strength tally at 12:17 of the first period tied the game at 1-1. Colorado College went on to upset No. 15 Michigan Tech with two goals in the second period and one in the third. Foote was one of only two Huskies players to finish the game with a plus-1 rating.

Marek had another multi-point game with two assists. He had the second assist on Magnitgorsk's opening goal, scored by Nikolai Kulemin at 1:05 of the first period. He later assisted on Kulemin's game-winning power-play goal at 0:44 of the seond period, breaking a 3-3 tie. Marek is now averaging better than a point per game in the highly competitive Russian Superleague and ranks fourth in the league in points and second in goals behind former NHLer Alexei Morozov.

Cliche, the MAINEiacs captain, once again helped lead his team to victory with a key assist. After 45 scoreless minutes, Cliche had the second assist on the game's first goal, scored by Pierre-Luc Faubert on a power play at 5:50 of the third period. That goal stood up as the game-winner with Lewiston netminder Jonathan Bernier making 20 saves for the shutout. Cliche also took a minor penalty in the second period.

Harvard eventually took a 2-1 lead before giving up three unanswered goals over the game's second half. Reese also took a minor penalty in the second period.

Olver had the lone assist on the Wildcats' goal, scored by Mike Santorelli in a shorthanded situation at 6:17 of the first period. The goal made it 1-1 just 22 seconds after No. 4 Miami had gone up 1-0 on a 5-on-3 power play.
