Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Feb. 6, 2007

Three Rangers prospects competed in regular-season games in the WHL on Tuesday. Here is a summary of their performances:

DupontBrodie Dupont
Position: Center
Team: Calgary Hitmen
League: WHL
Dupont's Scoring to Date: 55 games, 28 goals, 28 assists, 95 PIM
Feb. 6: Red Deer 5, Calgary 4 (OT) (at Red Deer)

Despite the loss, it was a two-goal night for Dupont. He scored his first goal of the season on a power play with 1:03 remaining in the first period to give the Hitmen a 2-0 lead. Dupont later notched his 28th of the season on a power play at 14:08 of the second period, stretching Calgary's lead to 3-1. He also took a minor penalty in the second period and finished the night with a plus-1 rating.

RussellRyan Russell
Position: Center
Team: Kootenay Ice
League: WHL
Russell's Scoring to Date: 41 games, 19 goals, 30 assists, 37 PIM
Feb. 6: Kootenay 5, Lethbridge 1 (at Kootenay)

Russell had the second assist on Steve DaSilva's goal, which closed out the scoring at 14:18 of the third period. He also finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

HunterEric Hunter
Position: Left Wing
Team: Prince George Cougars
League: WHL
Hunter's Scoring to Date: 53 games, 17 goals, 23 assists, 112 PIM
Feb. 6: Kamloops 2, Prince George 1 (at Kamloops)

Hunter did not score any points and took two minor penalties in the Cougars' loss.
