The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Texas Wildcatters 4-3 in a shootout on the road Tuesday night. Rangers prospect Lee Falardeau picked up the primary assist on Charlotte's first goal, scored by Mark Lee at 8:34 of the second period. The goal cut Texas' lead to 2-1. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt was outstanding in net with 39 saves for Charlotte, which lost in overtime for the first time this season. Texas won the five-round shootout by a 2-1 margin. Koverko did not score any points and took one minor penalty in the Generals' loss on the road.
