It was a bit nerve-racking, but in the end, the 2007-08 New York Rangers ended their playoff series with the New Jersey Devils in style on Friday night in Newark. After grabbing a 4-1 lead, they held on in the third to beat their hosts 5-3 in Game 5.

* Game 5 marked the only time in the series that the team that scored first lost.

* The Rangers outscored the Devils 19-10 in the five games after a 17-9 edge in the regular season.

* The Blueshirts have beaten New Jersey in four of five playoff series. The only loss came two years ago when the Devils swept the Rangers.

* Henrik Lundqvist finished with 26 saves. He did not lose a game in regulation to the Devils all season and was in net for all 11 combined regular-season and playoff victories.
