NYR Prospects in Postseason: March 30 Recap

Five Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Thursday night in the OHL, QMJHL and WHL playoffs.

Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:

PyattTom Pyatt
Position: Center
Team: Saginaw Spirit (OHL)
Playoff Series: Saginaw vs. Guelph (Guelph wins series 4-0)
Pyatt's Final Playoff Scoring: 4 games, 1 goal, 2 assists
March 30: Guelph 4, Saginaw 3 (at Saginaw)

Although the Spirit were eliminated from the OHL playoffs, Pyatt turned in his best postseason performance with a goal and an assist. He started his night with the first assist on Tyson Gimblett's goal just 30 seconds into the first period, giving Saginaw a 1-0 lead. The Spirit then went up 2-0 in the first before allowing four straight goals. Pyatt notched the final goal of his team's season with 54 seconds left in the game, cutting Guelph's lead to 4-3.

DupontBrodie Dupont

Position: Center
Team: Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
Playoff Series: Calgary vs. Lethbridge (series tied 2-2)
Dupont's Playoff Scoring to Date: 4 games, 2 goals, 1 assist
March 30: Calgary 2, Lethbridge 1 (at Calgary)

Dupont notched his second goal of the playoffs on a power play at 2:13 of the first period, giving the Hitmen a 1-0 lead. All three of the game's goals were scored on first-period power plays, and Calgary managed to even the series at home. Dupont was also called for a minor penalty during the game.

March 30: Halifax 5, Lewiston 2 (at Halifax)

Paiement had the second assist on Michal Korenko's power-play goal at 17:55 of the first. It was the Maineiacs' first goal of the game after falling into a 3-0 hole. Paiement also had 15 penalty minutes in the loss.

ClicheMarc-Andre Cliche
Position: Right Wing
Team: Lewiston Maineiacs (QMJHL)
Playoff Series: Lewiston vs. Halifax (series tied 2-2)
Cliche's Playoff Scoring to Date: 4 games, 1 goal, 2 assists
March 30: Halifax 5, Lewiston 2 (at Halifax)

Cliché did not have any points following a two-point effort in Game 3 of the series.

Position: Right Wing
Team: Guelph Storm (OHL)

Guelph captain Callahan did not dress for Thursday night's game due to an injury suffered in Game 3, but his absence didn't keep the Storm from completing their sweep of the Spirit.
