Greater New York City Ice Hockey League is a not for profit (501c3 corporation) hockey program for boys and girls ages 4 - 18.  Based in Coney Island, Brooklyn, the organization focuses on providing a progressive and competitive recreational environment geared towards the development of hockey skills, knowledge of the game. First organized in 1967, Greater New York City Ice Hockey League strives to make hockey more affordable and accessible to all children in the Metropolitan area.

Through Rangers Assist supported by Chase, the Greater New York City Ice Hockey League received $25,000 in funding that will break down barriers at the grassroots level of hockey by providing them with starter sets of equipment, coaching education and off-ice training aids that will include a dedicated area of Abe Stark Ice Rink for kids to utilize when there is no available ice.
