by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

New York Rangers President, General Manager and Head Coach Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Lawrence Nycholat has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Nycholat, who has appeared in two games with New York this season, will replace Tom Poti (back spasms) in the lineup tonight.

The 6-0, 194-pound blueliner has appeared in 48 matches with Hartford this season, collecting three goals and 16 assists for 19 points, along with 75 penalty minutes.

Nycholat made his NHL debut on January 20, 2004 vs. the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden. The Calgary, Alberta native was acquired by New York from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for goaltender Johan Holmqvist.
