The Official Site of the New York Rangers Hit's All-Time Traffic Mark

In one of the most active days on the National Hockey League calendar each year, the New York Rangers official web site,, recorded the highest traffic totals since the site’s inception in 1997.

On Tuesday, March 19 - NHL Trade Deadline Day - 37,144 unique visitors made their official destination to receive the latest news regarding the acquisition of Pavel Bure from Florida and the trade which brought defenseman Tom Poti and forward Rem Murray to Broadway from Edmonton. Overall, more than 4.9 million successful site hits were recorded, as well as 730,000 page views and 61,000 site visits. In comparison, the 2001 NHL Trade Deadline last March 13 brought 1.5 million hits to, in addition to 21,000 site visits and 12,000 unique visitors.

In addition to Tuesday's all-time traffic numbers, the traffic levels reached on Monday, March 18 ranked among the busiest days in the site's history as well, in reaction to the Bure deal. More than 2.7 million successful site hits were registered, as well as 40,000 site visits and 23,500 unique visitors.

The previous traffic highs were recorded on August 20, 2001, when the Rangers announced the acquisition of center Eric Lindros from the Philadelphia Flyers. More than 2.7 million successful site hits were recorded, along with 23,517 unique visitors and 40,026 total site visits.
