New show lets fans pick best games from 2005-06

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

This summer, MSG Network is giving Rangers fans a chance to relive the most exciting moments from the Blueshirts' 2005-06 season.

A new summer show called Rangers Ten to Remember airs on MSG Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. Each week, a different game from the 2005-06 season is being shown as part of a special two-hour re-broadcast, until a total of 10 games have aired.

The show kicked off Tuesday night with the premiere episode -- a re-airing of the Blueshirts' Nov. 26 game vs. Washington at Madison Square Garden. That game ended with a dramatic 15-round shootout, capped off by Marek Malik's magical between-the-legs circus shot that beat Capitals goalie Olaf Kolzig.

Rangers Ten to Remember has a special twist, because viewers get to pick which game they want to see each week. Fans are presented with two choices on the MSG Network web site, and the game drawing more votes will be shown.

In the first round of voting for the premiere, the 15-round shootout game edged the Jan. 12 Messier Night pregame ceremony and win over Edmonton. That game will likely come up for voting again before the show's 10 week run is over.
